"Nightning" defends his title

He's done it again. Around three months after his first strike, star player “Nightning” pulled off another coup. In the fastest final in the still young history of Hobby Legends, the player from Cologne secured his second success with an impressive performance. But one thing at a time...

We were delighted to see another full field of participants despite the summer temperatures and the vacation season. In addition to many familiar names, there were also a few new ones that brought a breath of fresh air and great plays to the battlefield.
In Group A alone, five of the eight players were making their first appearance on the Hobby Legends stage. It was these players who ultimately decided who would qualify for the grand final. "JackBfangirl” won the group by a wafer-thin margin of 1.5 points over runner-up "DrVuong". Another newcomer, “Backfischttv”, reached the final day as the best third-placed player in the group.

Group B almost saw a record for the ages, as “RoadRunnerX” won four of the first five rounds. Only in the final match did the clear triumphant of the group have to settle for third place. He therefore scored 33 out of a possible 35 points in the preliminary round. Behind him, “Arktanier” and “Florian2601” qualified first. Unfortunately, Florian was unable to take part in the final on Sunday and therefore gave up his starting place.

In the final Group C, our good friend “bulgi” made his debut as a caster and was immediately faced with a star-studded field. In addition to the eventual winner “Nightning”, old master “Giedel” and streamer legend “Pennywise1” were also there. The big surprise, however, came from standard specialist “Sunandrain”, who secured third place and a place in the final behind “Nightning” and “Penny” in his first participation.

Once there, “Nightning” set the course for victory in the very first round. Just under two hours later, after four rounds had already been played, he was able to set the lobby in check and then converted the first match point to win the title again. "DrVuong” finished in a strong 2nd place, leaving "RoadRunnerX", who had the same number of points, behind him due to his higher finishes.

We congratulate “Nightning” and are curious to see if and when his streak will be broken. The rest of the field will definitely have to keep at it.

We have to give special mention to “bulgi”, who did a lot of advertising and thus ensured a full field of participants. As long as there is interest, we will continue to organize the tournament. Therefore, of course, a big thank you to all the players who competed on the battlefield this weekend and, despite the delay, also ensured a good atmosphere in the individual chats during the rounds. We hope to continue to welcome new and returning names to our events. See you in October.

Nightning's final victory

"Nightning" secures the crown

Last weekend saw the 2nd edition of our Hobby Legends BG tournament. Only four days
after the start of the new season and in connection with many new and well-known minions, the
tournament with the fresh meta posed an additional challenge for the participants. Despite one or two last-minute cancellations, we were pleased to see a full field of participants
.

Shortly after the draw, it was clear that the name "Group of Death" has rarely been more fitting than in the case of Group A. Not only did it feature the top two finishers from the last tournament, "Graif" and "Nightning", but with the exception of "LezFez", who stepped in at short notice, it also featured familiar faces from the scene across the board. In the end, the outstanding "Nightning" secured victory in the group. Behind him, no closer decision would have been possible, as "Hapokas" and "Graif" both finished with identical scores. "Hapo" made it to the final due to its better ranking with one lobby win compared to none.

Three newcomers to our tournament competed in Group B. "Lemonii", who had been looking for a new challenge during the easy monthly achievement of Legend on the standard ladder, "luvcordonbln", as the biggest German-speaking wild streamer, is probably a household name to everyone and "Ilyuna" as a very new and highly motivated streamer. While it was all to play for for "luv" until the last round, the other two were not quite able to get into the action at the top, but performed well on their debut. "gaxe" won the group, ahead of "bulgure" and also "Curryan1337" who qualified for the final on Sunday as one of the best third-placed players.

Group C also saw two new faces in the form of "Sqwirwel" and "Edoeasy". In combination with the "old hands" around "Giedel", "major316", "EquaLiZe", "stipflip" and "Varul", we had a colorful mix. After the five rounds, "RoadRunnerX" topped the group, ahead of "flip", "EquaLiZe" also entered the final day as one of the two best third-placed teams in the group.

As Ryan was unfortunately unable to compete, "Graif", who had narrowly failed the day before, stood in for him. So it was still all to play for, for the defending champion. After seven final rounds in the first edition, we thought it couldn't get any more exciting, but far from it. "Nightning" and "gaxe" put the lobby in check after just four rounds. Everything was set for a relatively quick end. However, Nightning in particular decided to put on a good show for the viewers and took second place in rounds five, six and seven. None of the other competitors were really interested in an early finish either, which meant that five players were in with a chance of overall victory before round 8. "Nightning", "flip", RoadRunner", "gaxe" and "Graif". That was probably enough excitement for "Nightning" for one Sunday and he converted his fourth match point after a good six hours. With twelve more points scored in the final than the runner-up "gaxe", we can speak of a more than deserved winner.
Congratulations to him.

Once again, of course, the biggest thanks go to all participants. There were no problems or major delays, which made it possible for us all to have a great BG weekend. Hobby Legends 3 is planned for July, all information can be found here or on the tournament discord. See you next time, on the battlefield.

Hobby Legends goes 4 Seasons

To our delight, a survey in the community revealed that people would like to see the tournament every three months and take part in it. We are therefore currently planning to hold the tournament in January (as we have already done), April, July and October. Of course, in addition to our own schedule, we also have to take Blizzard and any patches or new seasons into account. This is why a postponement of one or two weeks is of course always possible, but not intended.

You can find out on which weekends the Hobby Legends will be held here as soon as they are confirmed.

We would like to thank you for your support and hope for a full field of participants again.

"Graif"wins 1.Hobby Legends

Fresh at the turn of the year, the first edition of Hobby Legends took place last weekend.
By reaching the target number of 24 extremely competitive players, not only did the group stage on
Saturday, but especially the grand final on Sunday offered top-class gameplay and drama right to the end.

In Group A, "EquaLiZe" not only emerged as the winner, but also as the player with the most points of all the
battlefield fighters of the first day into the top 8. He was followed by "Giedel" in second place and "Bloodbornezz" as one of the two best third-placed players due to sufficient points.

Group B saw thrills right up to the last minute. Group leader "stipflip" was followed by "Curryan1337", who was separated by just one point from the trio of "DarkEvil", "TheRealMeyer" and "Dillinger01".

The two top finishers of the final day were also to be found in the final Group C.
Graif" took the top spot, ahead of "Florian2601" and "Nightning", who, like "Bloodbornezz" before him, also made it into the top 8 thanks to his high points finish.

On the final day, after an outstanding start by "Florian2601", there were long signs that Hearthstone veteran "Giedel" would win, as he was the first player to check the lobby. In a dramatic 1 vs. 1 between "Graif" and "Giedel", the eventual winner prevailed by a wafer-thin margin, allowing the rest of the field to breathe a sigh of relief, as every participant was still in with a chance of triumph. Before the final 7th round, five of the eight players had the chance to win the tournament with a lobby victory, which made for considerable suspense right up to the last round. In the end, it was "Graif" who, after a tough battle, was able to be celebrated as the first winner of the Lobby Legends.

While congratulations go to the winner, a big thank you goes in the same breath to all 24 participants who ensured that the event ran perfectly and smoothly. We hope to welcome some, if not all
to return for future editions of this tournament.
